Forensics: Kidnapped Cookies

Class Cost: $40 + one time $15 supply fee
Suggested Age: 8-12
Use scientific principles and logic to crack the case of the kidnapped cookies! In this two-part class, we’ll use chemical analysis, ink chromatography, fingerprinting and simulated genetic analysis to determine who stole the kidnapped cookies.
*Please notify the instructor of any food allergies or concerns related to food samples being used in this class. No food samples will be consumed but they may be handled by students.
* Please consider bringing a notebook (any kind) to record observations and interesting notes. To develop good laboratory habits, all science students are encouraged to wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that can be stained (or an apron over their clothes), to tie back long hair and to secure dangling jewelry or clothes.
