After you’ve signed up, all future payments will be on the 25th of the month. Holidays and snow days are included in the price as are months with 5 days. Late cancellations will have a 5% surcharge (which is what we are charged by our processor).
Pre-K Classes
Ages: 3 – 5
Day: Tuesday
Time: 9:00am – 12:00pm
Cost: $150/month
Classes will be loosely structured and primarily focused on gaining the skills needed to start formal school, such as learning to take direction from a non-parent adult, playing appropriately with peers, taking turns, etc.
Each day we will :
* start with about 30 minutes of free play,
* have a semi-structured activity, experiment, or craft
* spend a chunk of time outside at a playground or going on adventures
* have a snack (packed from home)
* end with 30-60 minutes of free play
We consider free play to be one of the most important elements of this program. It is where we see the most growth. Quiet kiddos learn how to advocate for themselves and more outgoing kiddos learn how to accept ‘no’ as an answer. At the beginning of the year free play is heavily supervised to model appropriate behavior, but as the year goes on, adults take a step back and watch the magic happen, giving kiddos a chance to resolve disagreements before stepping in.
This is a drop-off program, but kiddos must be able to mostly independently potty or have a parent close at hand (able to show up within 5 or 10 minutes) to help if needed. We can help with wiping during a poop emergency, but that’s about the extent.
