Fall at STEAM Lab

In addition to our regular after school programming we have a lot of cool things coming up.

Classes

We have two classes set for this fall. If they are successful we will add more.

Lego Robotics – Spike Prime Edition: In this class kids will learn how to build and program Lego’ Spike Prime. They will then compete in a challenge of the group’s choosing.

Lights! Camera! Lego! will see students creating their own screenplays and then filming them using a GoPro and Lego minifigs, sets, and props.

Drop-in Tutoring

We’re trying to meet the need for affordable tutoring in town with a monthly subscription model for drop-ins. We’re starting out with two days a week of availability and will add more availability as we have more students signing up. This will be a zero profit program with all subscriptions going towards adding more tutoring slots to our schedule.

The tutoring page will list the tutors and their subjects and each day will list which tutors are available. We can cover most K – 10 subjects most of the time, but more advanced classes will need some pre-arrangments to make sure we have an appropriate tutor.

Drop-in Play

We’re bringing back our drop-ins now that summer is over and we’ve settled into our new location. Starting September 7th, we will be offering drop-ins on Sundays from 12pm – 3pm. Cost will be $7/child or $12/family for the entire day.

We’re looking for adult volunteers to be building monitors (bringing their kids along for free, of course) in order to open up Saturdays. This job simply involves committing to being in the building from 10am – 1pm on Saturdays (you can pick one a month or do all of them) so that our teen staffer is not alone. Let us know if you are interested.
