We’ve had so much fun learning about bugs, birds, and growing things this Spring!
Kiddos learned about bugs! They found their bugs in sensory sand, went on a scavenger hunt for bug food, and designed their own bugs, each with six legs!
Miss Jamie took our kids on a trip to go explore soil types and they all ended up with an impromptu tour of a roadwork construction site where Karen kindly invited all of our kids over to take a closer look while explaining all the soils used to create the correct bed for the road.
Kiddos got seeds for our new food garden from the amazing seed library at Mesa Public and then some more seeds and potting soil at Metzgers. Kiddos told Miss Lis that their hands were very strong, but not strong enough to pull her in the wagon. We planted tomatoes and cucumbers and plan on planting a lot more in a few weeks.
Kiddos learned about birds and made bird spotting binoculars that they decorated with nature. They explored different shapes of bird beaks in our sensory bin and cracked eggs filled with ice with Miss Jamie and Alex helped them tie knots for their bird feeders.
We’ll have PreK classes this summer at STEAM Lab. You can register your kiddo here: https://lasteamlab.com/shop/pre-k-steam-summer-classes/
